Akhilesh Yadav, son of Samajwadi party founder and national president, Mulayam Singh Yadav, became the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh in 2012. At 38, he was the youngest CM ever of the biggest state in the country. He was earlier elected a member of the Lok Sabha from Kanauj in 2000. Akhilesh, who has a master’s degree in environmental engineering from the University of Sydney, Australia, was recently embroiled in an ugly family feud involving his uncle, Shivpal Yadav, forcing Mulayam to intervene and resolve matters.
