Sixty-two-year-old Tamil actor Kamal Haasan’s movie career has spanned over five decades with his debut in Kalathur Kannamma at the age of three. His debut as an adult actor was in the 1973 film Arangetram and today he is regarded as one of the greatest actors ever. “To my conscience, humanity is the mother of all religions. Be the human, and being human, raise the standard of humanity,” says the actor.
Haasan has contributed to the entertainment industry in myriad capacities as writer, director, playback singer, producer, lyricist and choreographer and of course, as an actor. With 200 films under his belt in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi and Bengali, Haasan has won many awards both at home and abroad. He has two daughters from his second marriage, Shruti and Akshara Haasan. He recently got separated from his long time live-in partner, Gautami.
