Nick Kyrgios declares he'll retire before 30

The 21-year-old maverick said there was 'absolutely no chance' of him playing tennis at the age of 30.

Melbourne: Australian controversial tennis star Nick Kyrgios has made a shocking revelation that he will walk away from the sport well before he turns 30.

In an interview to a London-based newspaper, the 21-year-old maverick said there was 'absolutely no chance' of him playing tennis at the age of 30 and observed that 'there are so many more things to this world than tennis for me', news.com.au reported.

Despite admitting that his tendency to go for creative shots has a detrimental impact on his performance, the Wimbledon and Australian Open quarterfinalist, however, said that he doesn't have the patience to work on it.

Recently, Kyrgios came under severe criticism from Australian Olympic Committee boss Kitty Chiller, with the latter even threatening to snub Kyrgios if he doesn't improve his on-court behaviour.

Kyrgios will kick-start his French Open campaign against Italy's world No. 124 Marco Cecchinato.
