Rampaging Rohit slams a triple ton

Mumbai, Dec. 16: Middle-order batsman Rohit Sharma’s first triple century (309 not out) enabled hosts Mumbai tighten their grip over Gujarat as they declared their first innings at a mammoth 648-6 on the second day of their Group A Ranji Trophy Superleague match here on Wednesday.

In reply, Gujarat made 120 for 1.

The Deccan Chargers player, who began the day at his overnight’s score of 145, piled the agony on the opposition as he struck 38 boundaries and four sixes in his 322-ball knock that was spread over seven-and-a-half hours.
