National swimming coach Pradeep Kumar S might just be swimming into unknown waters.

Bengaluru: National swimming coach Pradeep Kumar S might just be swimming into unknown waters as it is being rumoured that the Basavanagudi Aquatic Club head coach is moving to the United Arab Emirates’ Induss Training Center. This could entail that the experienced coach giving up his current positions, including his nearly three-decade association with the Bengaluru club.
There are also talks of Wilson Cherian taking over as the Indian coach but at the moment there is little clarity on the matter. When asked about his future, Kumar said. “These are just rumours and I don’t know where they have come from. I am going to Dubai to help a friend run a centre. The centre is already running. I am going there and help them in operations.

“I will go and oversee things. This is my 29th year as coach and if I wanted to quit, I would have quit three years ago. The stress of this job is too much. For some time I am going to go there and help them run the centre. I am not at an age where I can handle too much travel.” Meanwhile KSA president NR Jagdale said: “He is going to help develop a swim centre there, but structurally he will still be connected to us.”
