Badminton Association of India recommends N Sikki Reddy for Arjuna Award

Sikki has 27 career medals in all 15 golds, 5 silvers and 7 bronzes.

Hyderabad: The Badminton Association of India has recommended Hyderabad shuttler N. Sikki Reddy for the Arjuna Award this year. In a letter to Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, BAI president Himanta Biswa Sarma listed out Sikki’s achievements while attaching the application in the prescribed format.

The 24-year-old won the mixed team gold medal and the women’s doubles bronze at the recent Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia. She has been the women’s doubles national champion since 2013 and also won gold at the South Asian Games 2016 held at Shillong. At the Syed Modi International Grand Prix Gold event in 2017, Sikki won gold in mixed doubles and silver in women doubles.

She has also been part of many national and international tournaments including Super Series, Grand Prix Gold and Grand Prix events organised by the Badminton World Federation in various parts of the world, winning 27 medals in all — 15 golds, 5 silvers and 7 bronzes.
