Visakhapatnam: For the first time in Andhra Pradesh, Vizag District Kabaddi Association in association with Visakhapatnam Port Trust Kabaddi players will be organising Vizag District Kabaddi League for men and women on the lines of Pro Kabaddi, on Kabaddi mats in the indoor stadium at Swarnabharathi indoor stadium from February 20 to 22.
Over 14 top teams in men’s category and four teams in women’s category in Vizag region will be participating in the tournament. Releasing the poster of the tournament, Malla Vijaya Prasad said and Secretary of the association V. Srinivasa Rao said that the 14 teams have been divided into four pools and the matches will be conducted on the league-cum-knockout basis while the matches for women’s category will be conducted on super league format. The matches start at 4 pm and cash prize along with trophies will be presented to the winners. All the matches will be conducted by qualified officials as per the AKFI rules under the floodlights, they added.
