Telangana and Andhra Pradesh teams missed out opportunities to emerge winners in the softball championship as both the sides lost out to Kerala in the 14th Senior South Zone National Softball Championship of men & women at the Pathanamthitta Municipal Stadium in Kerala.
In the men’s final, both Telangana and Kerala teams started on a positive note in the tense encounter.
However, it was the Kerala side who channelised their efforts in the final stage of the game to leave Telangana side behind by a 2-run margin.
In the women’s singles final, Andhra side which had a good outing till the final clash, failed to hold their nerves in the big match and faltered in the final stages against the Telangana’s nemesis — Kerala.
Andhra Pradesh women lost to Kerala by four runs. Earlier Kerala side scored six runs against their name.
Meanwhile, both Andhra Pradesh and Goa teams had to settle for third spots in the men’s and women’s sections respectively.

Men’s final: Telangana lose to Kerala 5-7.
Women’s final: Kerala bt Andhra Pradesh 6-2.
