Bhubaneswar: Jayanti Behera, a 17-year-old girl from Odisha, has brought laurels to the state by winning gold medal at the China Open Para Athletic Grand Prix Championship, reports said on Tuesday.
On Sunday, she notched the top prize in the women’s 400-metre event by clocking a timing of 1.02 minutes. Earlier, Jayanti had got silver medal in women’s 200 metre race with a timing of 28.50 seconds. Jayanti has earlier qualified for World Para Athletic Championship to be held in London in July this year.
