HIL: Dabang Mumbai zoom to top of table

After first quarter, Hamanpreet Singh put the hosts ahead in the 23rd minute.

New Delhi: Dabang Mumbai climbed to the top of table yet again, defeating Kalinga Lancers 5-2 in their Hockey India League Season 5 match in Bhubaneswar on Sunday.

This was Mumbai’s first away win this season and they now have 23 points from seven matches. Kalinga were pipped to the second spot with 20 points after as many games.

After first quarter, Hamanpreet Singh put the hosts ahead in the 23rd minute. Kalinga were left to play catch up and were found wanting on the lack of finishing touches.

On the other hand, strikes from Florian Fuchs (31st) and junior India striker Gurjant Singh (53rd) ensured Mumbai were well and truly on their way to a big win.
