Hyderabad’s M. Venkatesh and K. Sai Teja from Ranga Reddy hogged the limelight as they topped their respective categories in the 62nd Inter-District State Level Boxing for Under 14 Boys held at Lal Bahadur Stadium in Hyderabad.
In the 48-50 kgs, Venkatesh was best among the lot to finish at the top position as Md Fardin Khan was runner-up. B. Harsh and Shiva were tied at the third place.
K. Sai Teja proved too strong for his opponents as he emerged winner ahead of G. Sri Cheran Reddy who finished second in the 46-48 kgs category. N. Vamshi and John Ricy shared the honours for third rank.
Meanwhile in the 44-46 kgs, N. Praveen took the pride of the place on the podium while Warangal’s L. Prem Kumar was second best. Mani Kanta Singh and S.B.C. Chouhan both took the third positions.
Hyderabad’s B. Tarun Yadav was the star of the show as the young lad took the top honours in the 42-44 kgs leaving behind Md Hamza who finished runner-up. Ch. Vinay and G. Pavan Kalyan were third best.
E. Shashank and J. Sai Kiran took the first and second positions respectively in the 40-42 kgs while R. Sai Sharan and B. Venkatesh finished third.
