Watch: Lionel Messi ask Brazil coach Tite to ‘shut up’

Messi was involved in a heated debate with the Brazil Coach, after Tite’s complaint to the referee.

Mumbai: During Argentina’s friendly match against Brazil, things escalated so much between Argentine striker Lionel Messi and Brazil Coach Tite, the cameras caught 31-year-old footballer telling the rival team’s coach to “shut up”.

Messi, who was making his first appearance, after coming back from a three-month ban for saying that Copa America winners Brazil allegedly got involved in match fixing, was involved in a heated debate with the Brazil Coach, after Tite’s complaint to the referee.

After Argentina 1-0 win over their arch-rivals, the Brazil coach had confirmed that the incident really occurred, and he also retaliated by stating that he directed Messi to shut up. The Brazilian coach stared at the touchline and put his fingers to his lips before showing another hand sign that indicated that the Brazil coach, Tite had a lot to say for himself.

After Messi was not shown a yellow card while the camera was on him, Tite said, “I complained because he (Messi) should have been shown a yellow card and he told me to shut my mouth and I told him to shut his mouth. And that was it.”
