Virat Kohli wishes England captain Harry Kane ahead of FIFA World Cup 2018 campaign

England face Tunisia in their FIFA World Cup opener on Monday.

Mumbai: India cricket captain Virat Kohli has been an ardent follower of football. Before matches, he is always seen warming up with a light session of the sport and even in the past, has made his admiration known towards football.

With England opening their FIFA World Cup campaign against Tunisia later on Monday, Kohli took to Twitter to wish Harry Kane and co the best in the upcoming tournament.

“Wishing you a successful World Cup campaign @HKane! #WorldCupRussia2018 #HarryCan,” he wrote on his Twitter handle.

England, winners on football's biggest stage more than half a century ago, crashed out without a win four years in Brazil, and haven't won a knock-out match in any tournament since 2006.

Southgate's young charges however come to Russia quietly confident after a solid qualifying campaign and encouraging friendly results against the likes of Brazil, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands.

They play Tunisia in the historic city of Volgograd on Monday evening knowing anything other than a win would scatter pre-tournament plans, with Belgium looming later in Group G.
