Ben Cutting parents on cloud nine

Incidentally, Colin and Wendy Cutting were on cloud nine when their son Ben was awarded the Man of the Match (MoM) award in the IPL final on Sunday night.

It was around 5.00 am in Brisbane, where both parents didn't sleep whole night to be in front of the TV. "We are very, very proud and happy for our son. He very well deserved the Player of the Match award," he said minutes after Ben collected a cheque of Rs 10 lakh.

"Don't know what he would do with this money. He will head home for rest," the father said.

Earlier, when Ben remained unbeaten with 39 runs, the father had said, "We are very excited at his power hitting."

Cutting's 39 runs included 3 fours and 4 sixes, out of which one went out of the ground. "It is 3.00 am here in Brisbane and is the appropriate time to watch the IPL. Great wicket for Sunrisers," the senior had said when firing Gayle was out off his son bowling, but not before hitting four more than Cutting himself.
