Virender Sehwag strikes again in his birthday wishes for Joe Root

All lines in this Root are busy, said the former Indian opener.

Mumbai: Virender Sehwag has struck once again on Twitter as he wished Joe Root on his birthday on Friday.

The swashbuckling Indian opener, who is running riot on social media with his funny posts across topics, has termed Root a top player but not without adding a dash of Sehwag-ism to it.

Root, who is one of the best batsmen going around along side Virat Kohli, Steve Smith and Kane Williamson, turned 26 on December 30. The Yorkshireman, who has it in him to become England best batsman of all time across all the formats, was his team’s leading run-getter in the recently-concluded five-match Test series against India.

Sehwag, appreciated Root’s ever growing stature in world cricket, terming him a hungry player. However, Sehwag being Sehwag, added a dash of humour saying: "All lines in this Root are busy."

While Alastair Cook is yet to take a call on his future as England's Test skipper following a 4-0 series loss against India, there are calls to make Root in the Test cricket.

Sehwag, on Thursday, had taken on Saqlain Mushtaq, who was England’s spin-bowling coach during the Test series against India.

The Indian, who has two triple hundreds against his name in the longer format of the game, reminded the former Pakistani off-spinner of how he still enjoys watching his six, which he hit off Saqlain's bowling, to bring up his triple hundred in Multain in 2004.
