I had no idea about the boundary rope: Chris Lynn

KKR all-rounder shares secret behind those gymnastic catches.

Mumbai: Australian all-rounder Chris Lynn, who played his first match for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the ongoing season against Mumbai Indians, said he doesn’t keep track of the boundary rope when pulling off those gymnastic catches on the border line.

Lynn shot to fame once he stretched, arched to position himself to catch AB de Villiers at deep during the 2014 edition of IPL.

KKR lost to Mumbai by six wickets, but Lynn left a mark of his spring-like body. When Jos Buttler aimed for the aerial route off Sunil Narine, Lynn pulled the ball back into the field of play, overstepped the boundary rope and quickly jumped back to take a spectacular catch.

“It all happens too quickly. I had no idea about the boundary rope while I went for the catch. I work on those catches, I try to work everywhere and not only on batting. Fielding is important,” said Lynn, who believed KKR fell short by 15 runs.

“We didn’t execute our plans in the bowling department but that’s fine, it’s not the end of the world,” he added.

Lynn praised Mumbai skipper Rohit Sharma for his unbeaten 68.

“He has done well against KKR, like Virat Kohli, he is doing well for himself,” asserted Lynn.
