Ashish Nehra to be picked for India-England ODIs, T20s?

The 37-year-old pacer's presence in the team could be vital for MS Dhoni and Co as they would be without the services of Mohammed Shami.

Mumbai: While there are reports that the likes of R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja will be rested for the limited-overs series against England, it is learnt Ashish Nehra is set to make a comeback to the Indian side which will play three ODIs and three T20Is against the Eoin Morgan-led unit.

After enjoying a great run of form in India's 3-0 series win in T20Is in Australia, Asia Cup triumph and ICC World Twenty20, the left-arm pacer sustained an injury during the Indian Premier League while playing for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. The hamstring injury cut short Nehra’s season.

However, the 37-year-old pacer, who played a big part in India’s run to the semifinal of the ICC World T20 2016, may earn a recall to the Indian side.

It is leant that the senior Delhi pacer will play two warm-up games in Mumbai against the England side. In all likelihood, India's limited-overs skipper MS Dhoni will also feature in these two games which will take place before the first India versus England ODI on January 15 in Pune.

Nehra’s inclusion could offer a big boost to India’s bowling attack considering Mohammed Shami’s absence due to injury and a long season Umesh Yadav has had.
