IPL 2018: Money, money, money! Here's all you need to know about the cash prizes

CSK and SRH will not only be fighting for the trophy in the 2018 IPL final but also for a massive paycheque.

Mumbai: Sunday will see the end of India’s most celebrated cricket carnival as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) square off against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the final of the 2018 Indian Premier League (SRH) on Sunday.

While MS Dhoni-led CSK are gunning for their third crown, the Eagles will be aiming to make it two times in a row.

Both sides will not only be fighting for the trophy but for a massive paycheque, with the IPL being the richest global T20 league. While the 2018 IPL winners will receive a whopping cheque of Rs 20 crores the runners-up will walk away with a prize money of Rs 12.5 crores.

The final will also include the distribution of several Individual awards - Orange Cap, Purple Cap, Most Valuable Player, Emerging Player award FBB Stylish Player of the Season award and FBB Stylish Player of the Match. The cash prize for each of the categories is Rs 10 lakhs.

SRH skipper Kane Williamson looks set to bag the Orange Cap award as he tops the run-scoring charts with 688 runs from 16 matches in his kitty, including eight half-centuries.

Coming to the Purple Cap, awarded to the highest wicket-taker, Kings XI Punjab’s Andrew Tye is the favourite with 24 scalps. Rashid Khan and Siddarth Kaul are not too far away, with 21 wickets each.

Not only that, cash prizes will also be allotted for Pitch and Ground Awards. Grounds that have hosted seven or more matches will receive Rs 50 lakh each while those who have hosted less than 7 matches will take away a cash prize of Rs 25 lakh rupees.
