Bengaluru: KSCA XI began their KSCA Dr. (Capt.) K Thimmappiah Memorial four-day cricket tournament on Monday registering a comfortable nine-wicket win against Tripura on the final day.
Chasing a modest target of 155 set by the visitors, opener Samarth Ravikumar’s unbeaten 90 powered KSCA XI home comfortably to grab six points at the Alur (1) ground.
Supporting Samarth, Mayank Agarwal (32) and Abhishek Reddy (33 n.o) chipped in with useful scores while Gurinder Singh picked up a wicket.
Earlier, Tripura on overnight 122/4, were bowled out for a paltry 170 in the second innings. Seasoned Yashpal Sharma top-scored with 40. Spearhead Ronit More bagged a four-wicket haul while fellow pacer David Mathias and leg-spinner Shreyas Gopal grabbed two wickets each.
In the first innings Tripura made 337 and in reply, KSCA XI amassed 352.
In another clash at RSI, Dr. DY Patil Cricket Academy too opened their account with a huge 146-run win over Kerala.
