It is learnt that the said player immediately reported the incident to the team management.

Dubai: While the cricket fans are lauding Afghanistan for their fight in the ongoing Asia Cup 2018, it is now reported that one of their players was approached by an Indian bookie ahead of the Pakistan versus Afghanistan Super Four clash last Friday.

According to a report in Wah Cricket the said player immediately reported the incident to the team management who consulted the Indian staff before reporting the same to the anti-corruption officials.

It is learnt that the player was offered money to perform poorly in the ongoing Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates.

The report also claimed that the ICC ACSU is also investigating Sri Lanka's early exit from the tournament following the defeats at the hands of Bangladesh and Afghanistan in the group stage.

While Afghanistan are out of contention to make it to the finals following the losses against Pakistan and Bangladesh, they will play their last game in Super Four against Rohit Sharma-led India on Tuesday in Dubai.
