Watch: Team India captain Virat Kohli bows down to Bhuvneshwar Kumar during 1st ODI

Team India skipper could not hold his emotions and did something which no one had expected.

Mumbai: Team India skipper Virat Kohli gave respect to pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar for his batting by bowing down to him during the 1st India vs New Zealand ODI played t Wankhede stadium in Mumbai on Sunday.

New Zealand won the first ODI by 6 wickets to lead the three-match ODI series 1-0. The Kiwis chased down Team India total of 280 runs with 6 balls to spare to spoil Virat Kohli’s party as the skipper played his 200th ODI in Mumbai.

The incident took place during 49th over of India’s innings. India was eyeing competitive total. Bhuvneshwar Kumar who was at crease was facing New Zealand fast bowler Adam Milne in the last over of the innings.

The Kiwi pacer tested the lower order batsman with a bouncer but he medium pacer was ready for the delivery as he stayed under the ball and smashed it over the long-on for a six. Kohli who had just completed his 31st ODI century was just a spectator as the ball sailed past the boundary line. Kohli could not hold his emotions and just bowed as a mark of respect to the pacer.

Thanks to late flourish, India managed to score 280 for 8 in 50 overs. The total was easily chased down buy the Kiwi batsman.Team India will be looking to bounce back in 2nd ODI to be held in Pune on Wednesday.
