Hyderabad are champs

Skipper Mickil leads the team to victory with his match winning performance.

Hyderabad colts dished out a brilliant performance in the final to blow Rajasthan away and clinch the 28th Rajiv Gandhi Under-19 National Twenty20 Cricket Championship, that was conducted by the Cricket Federation of Hyderabad.

Opting to bat first in the summit clash, the Rajasthan batting unit could not face the heat of Hyderabad bowlers and were folded for a paltry 73 in in 19.3 overs.

Mickil Jaiswal snared three wickets while conceding nine runs. Shreyas was the highest run scorer for Rajasthan with 21.

In response Hyderabad comfortably cruised to victory by chasing down the lowly total in 11.1 overs with seven wickets in hand. Sagar hit 25 from 17 balls while Bahat took 2 for 20 for Rajasthan.

Hyderabad’s skipper Mickil Jaiswal was adjudged with Man of the Match award.

Hyderabad players swept away the awards as Rohith was awarded as Best Batsman of the tournament while Ajaydev took the Best Bowler award. Sai Pratik and Sai Pranay were named as the best wicket-keepers. Rajasthan’s Raj was impressive with his overall show in the tournament which helped him to earn the Best All-rounder award.

Earlier in the first semifinal, Tamil Nadu were folded for 110 in 19.4 overs. In reply Hyderabad chased the total in 15.4 overs while in the other semifinal, Rajasthan swept aside Telangana to cruise into the final.

Final: Rajasthan 73 in 19.3 overs (Shreyas 21; Mickil Jaiswal 3/9) lost to Hyderabad 78/3 in 11.1 overs (Sagar 25; Bahat 2/20).

Semifinals: Tamil Nadu 110 in 19.4 overs (Vinod 20, Sultan 30, Kishore 23; Mickil Jaiwar 2/28, Ajay Dev Goud 2/14) lost to Hyderabad 114/3 in 15.4 (Sai pranay 32, Rohit 37; Mohan 2/17).

Rajasthan 142 in 20 overs (Pratheek Pawar 76, Pabba Nilesh 36; Karan 3/14, Pratyush 3/25) bt Telangana 96 in 16.4 (Sankeeth 17; Alankrith 4/15).
