BCCI, PCB officials meet ahead of ICC Dispute Committee hearings

There was no discussion about resumption of ties between the two countries in the meeting.

Dubai: Four key officials of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) met here for more than an hour after the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) board meeting.

The meeting, which was supposed to have discussed the bilateral series between India and Pakistan, was attended by Amitabh Chaudhary - BCCI acting secretary, Rahul Johri - BCCI CEO, Ehsan Mani - the new PCB chairman and the PCB COO Shubhan Ahmed.

Both parties remained silent on the outcome of the meeting and whether any compromise formula was reached ahead of the ICC's dispute committee hearing to be held here early next month.

There was no discussion about resumption of ties between the two countries in the Board meeting, which mainly discussed the distribution of the ACC funds to the members.

The meeting was first time chaired by Ehsan Mani after being made the PCB chief by the Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Interestingly, none of the Board members raised issue on scheduling of the Asia Cup matches in Dubai and Abu Dhabi even as the captains of the Pakistan and Bangladesh teams did show their displeasure over back-to back matches.

Atit Marshal, the outgoing chairman of the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) introduced their new president Azizullah Fazli at the Board meeting.

The date for the next ACC meeting in November is yet to be decided. It will be held in Lahore.
