KPL: Manish Pandey's fifty powers Mysuru Warriors

With the clash reduced to a 17 overs-a-side affair owing to delayed start, skipper Pandey's 36-ball 52 (2x4, 2x6) helped Warriors post 157 for 5.

Bengaluru: Manish Pandey led from the front as Mysuru Warriors defeated Bellary Tuskers by 14 runs in the fifth edition of the Karnataka Premier League at the KSCA Stadium in Rajnagar, here on Wednesday.

With the clash reduced to a 17 overs-a-side affair owing to delayed start, skipper Pandey’s 36-ball 52 (2x4, 2x6) helped Warriors post 157 for 5.

Supporting Pandey, opener Arjun Hoysala made 46 off 35 balls (4x7) while Jonathan R. contributed 30. Left-arm pacer Pratheek Jain claimed two wickets.
In reply, Tuskers were restricted to 143/7 as Rohan Kadam struck a 40-ball 61 that was laced with nine hits to the fence and a six. Down the middle order, Karthik CA fired a 17-ball 30 (3x6) to keep them in hunt.

Off-spinner K. Gowtham (2/26) was the pick of the bowlers for Warriors as they handed Tuskers their third defeat of the campaign. Earlier in the day, owing to incessant rain, the clash between Mangalore United and Bijapur Bulls was called off.

Before rain played spoilsport, Mangalore were struggling at 45/7 in nine overs.
