Hyderabad: Opener Shantanu and No.6 Sameer Choudhary came up with crucial knocks to help Uttar Pradesh take the lead against Hyderabad on the second day of their Cooch Behar Trophy U-19 third round match here on Monday.
Resuming at their overnight score of 26 for 1 UP’s Shantanu was up to the task.
He faced 266 balls, hit 11 boundaries and a six before falling in the nervous nineties, at 94. Sameer made 76 that included 11 hits to the fence as well as the visitors edged ahead of the hosts’ first innings score of 225 to be at 228 for 6 with two days of play left.
