Ranchi: A contest between India and Australia always brings the emotions out of the players. With all the players being under pressure, in a four-match Test series between the top two Test sides in the world, tensions often boil over.
That is exactly what happened on Sunday, on the fourth day of the third Test in Ranchi.
While the game was pretty open in the first session of the day’s play, Wriddhiman frustrated the Australian bowlers with a record seventh wicket partnership of 199 runs with Cheteshwar Pujara, who went on to score 202.
The frustration was clearly there for everyone to see, as Aussie paceman Josh Hazlewood had an angry exchange of words with the India wicketkeeper, early on Sunday. Saha, who is known to play the big innings once in a while (he scored 117 in this innings), was not going to shy away, and gave a mouthful back to the Aussie bowler.
