Johannesburg: Team India opener Shikhar Dhawan, who is currently in South Africa for a full-fledged series, recently expressed his concerns for Pakistani batsman Shoaib Malik after he suffered an injury during the fourth ODI match against New Zealand.

The 35-year-old, who is travelling with the Men in Green for limited-overs assignment, was accidentally hit by a ball thrown by a Kiwi fielder, as he was running without a helmet. The impact of the throw was such that the ball continued to move towards the boundary rope after it hit the batsman.

Malik fell on the ground immediately after the impact, while scans later revealed that he suffered from delayed concussions.

After suffering from such an injury, cricket fraternity took to Twitter to wish the Pakistani cricketer a speedy recovery. Among those who sent the messages was Shikhar Dhawan, who won the hearts of Pakistani fans with his tweet.

Dhawan tweeted, “Janab @realshoaibmalik, hope you're recovering well and will be fit soon to be back on the field! Take care.”

The Pakistani fans loved the message and tweeted some friendly responses to thank the Indian opener for showing his concerns.
