How PV Sindhu was bowled' by Virender Sehwag's yorker' on Twitter

Sehwag, who was busy commentating during the first ODI between India and Australia, made sure he wished her on his Twitter handle.

Seoul: India’s ace shuttler PV Sindhu on Sunday got the better of Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara 22-20,11-21,21-18 in the final of the Korean Open Super Series here.

While the whole country were glued to the TV sets watching Virat Kohli’s Team India play against Steve Smith- led Australia in the first of the five ODIs in Chennai, Sindhu was quietly scripting history in Korea as she became the first Indian shuttler to win the title.

The final was a rematch of the World Championships title clash at Glasgow last month, which presented Sindhu a chance to avenge the loss against her Japanese opponent, and the Indian shuttler finally emerged victorious, overcoming the hurdle.

The 22-year-old, thus became the first Indian to win an Olympic Silver, first Indian to win at World Championships thrice, first from the country to win three Super Series title, and the first Indian to win in Korea. After Sindhu’s victory in Korea, former India batsman Virender Sehwag was quick to congratulate the Indian shuttler on her impressive victory in the final.

Sehwag, who was busy commentating during the first ODI between India and Australia, made sure he wished her on his Twitter handle. He tweeted, “At 22 Pusarla Venkata Sindhu is a legend. What a player! Congratulations on this stunning finals win. Most breathtaking badminton @Pvsindhu1”

Reacting to this, Sindhu thanked Sehwag for his wishes with an epic reply with a cricket reference. She tweeted “Sir Bowled by your yorker!!😆😆but very inspiring indeed 🙏 Will remember always to excell in my career!😃”

Later on, wishes started pouring in from many celebrities on her epic win. Former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amitabh Bachchan, boxer Vijender Singh congratulated the Hyderabadi shuttler on her victory.
