Sri Lanka vs India: Shikhar Dhawan replaces Murali Vijay in Virat Kohli-led Test side

The Tamil Nadu opener complained of pain in his right wrist, while playing a preparatory match.

Mumbai: Shikhar Dhawan has made a comeback to the Indian squad for the Test series against Sri Lanka as Murali Vijay, on Monday, was ruled out of the three-match series.

The Tamil Nadu opener, who sustained a wrist injury during the four Test series against Steve Smith-led Australia, complained of wrist pain during India’s preparatory match.

“The All-India Senior Selection Committee on Monday named Shikhar Dhawan as the replacement for injured Murali Vijay in the Test team, which is scheduled to travel to Sri Lanka for a three-match Test series,” BCCI said in a media release.

The first Test between Sri Lanka and Virat Kohli-led Indian side will commence on July 26 in Galle.
