Anushka Sharma replies to Rohit Sharma's cheeky wedding tweet for her and Virat Kohli

Newly-wed couple Virat Kohli-Anushka Sharma are spending their honeymoon in Italy after tying the knot on Monday.

Mumbai: Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma have been busy in the past one week with their wedding celebrations. The newly-weds who tied the knot on Monday are still in Italy, where they celebrated their marriage function and took time to respond to close friends, who poured in their love and wishes on Twitter.

Stand-in India skipper Rohit Sharma was one of them and wished the lovebirds on their wedding with a cheeky tweet, promising his teammate a marriage handbook.

Anushka in return responded to the Mumbai batsman’s tweet by congratulating Rohit for his marvelling 208* scored at the PCA Stadium in Mohali, during India’s 2nd ODI vs Sri Lanka on Wednesday.

Anushka also did not forget to wish the personalities of the sports fraternity who extended their wishes to the couple.

Rohit, captaining the side in his first full series, single-handedly won the game for India with an innings that comprised as many as a dozen sixes and 13 fours. After completing his first 100 runs off 115 balls, the stylish opener was simply unstoppable, blasting the next 100 runs off 36 balls to complete a famous double ton in the 50th over of the innings.

En route to his double hundred, Rohit crossed the 100-run mark in ODIs for the 16th time in his career, sixth this year and first ever as captain. Another record shattered was the highest individual score at the PCA Stadium, Mohali with Rohit surpassing the 154 Virat Kohli made against New Zealand last year.

While Rohit holds the world record score of 264 versus Sri Lanka in Kolkata, he scored his first ever double ton -- 209 against Australia in Bengaluru, back in 2013.

In all, seven double hundred have been scored in ODIs and three belong to the stylish Mumbaikar. The other four double hundreds have been hit by Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Martin Guptill and Chris Gayle.

Rohit's 208 not out against Sri Lanka is the second highest individual score by a captain in ODIs with Sehwag's 219 against West Indies in Indore back in 2011 still topping the charts. Rohit now has 16 hundreds from 173 ODIs with 6417 runs to his credit.
