Tendulkar was a tougher nut to crack than Lara: Brett Lee

Lee feels that while bowling to Sachin, he should've walked into the ground with an autograph book in one hand and a pen in the other.

Mumbai: Brett Lee is considered by many to be one of the most feared bowlers of all time. The two time World Cup winning pacer gave nightmares to many batsmen during his playing career. But when it comes to bowling to Sachin Tendulkar, Lee feels he should’ve walked onto the ground with an autograph book in one hand and a pen in the other.

The Australian pacer recently wrote an article on Sportstar, where he talked about bowling to the batting legend.

Lee wrote, “In my view he deserves to be acknowledged as the best batsman of all time, just as South Africa’s Jacques Kallis is entitled to be ranked the game’s greatest all-rounder.”

On bowling to Tendulkar and Brian Lara, Lee wrote that the Little Master was a tougher nut to crack.

“I rate Sachin as the tougher nut to crack, citing his longevity - he played 200 Tests and 463 One Day Internationals - as reasonable justification.”

“Make no mistake, on his day Brian could be as equally challenging for bowlers, but Sachin was so technically correct – the way he always played through the ‘V’ was incredible – and like a panther, he’d pounce on a poor delivery and devour it,” wrote Lee.

In reply to Binga’s article, Sachin thanked the bowler for his kind words.
