Win for Hyderabad in the all-India Buchi Babu Invitational Cricket tournament
Smarting from a humiliating 164-run defeat in their previous game at the hands of Tamil Nadu Cricket Association XI, Hyderabad XI bounced back quickly to thrash Tamil Nadu Cricket Association Districts XI in the very next match in the all-India Buchi Babu Invitational Cricket tournament. P. Akshath Reddy and Kolla Sumanth scored brilliant centuries as a team batting effort from Hyderabad saw them post a commanding 409 runs in 90 overs after taking first strike.
In reply, Mohammad Siraj and Mehdi Hasan picked three wickets each as TNCA Districts XI were bowled out for 328 runs — 82 runs short of the target. Akshath was off the blocks quickly, hitting 17 boundaries and four massive sixes over the course of his run-a-ball 123. Sumanth, on the other hand, was more circumspect, consuming 179 runs for his 109, stroking seven boundaries and two sixes.
