IPL 2019 auction: Mustafizur Rahman denied NOC by Bangladesh Cricket Board

Mustafizur was an important player in Sunrisers Hyderabad's title-winning season in 2016, having taken 17 wickets in 16 games.

Mumbai: Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman will not be a part of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) auctions after the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) declared not to provide the cricketer with a No Objection Certificate (NOC).

According to Cricbuzz, the BCB was not in favour of allowing the 23-year-old in playing in T20 leagues ahead of next year’s Cricket World Cup in England.

Mustafizur was an important player in Sunrisers Hyderabad’s title-winning season in 2016 under David Warner, having taken 17 wickets in 16 games.

He was drafted to Mumbai Indians earlier this year for the 2018 season. However, he only played seven matches after being ruled out due to a hairline fracture in his toe.

With IPL auctions taking place on December 18 in Jaipur, the 2019 season will have an early kick off and is slated to begin in March.
