Vinoo Mankad trophy: Hyderabad dish out decent performance

Tilak scored an unbeaten 79 and Varun made 72.

Hyderabad: Hyderabad chased past Kerala and Goa in Vinoo Mankad trophy (one-day league) matches played at Alur on Sunday.

In the Col. C.K. Nayudu Trophy match against Madhya Pradesh being played in Indore, Hyderabad were 218/5 at day-1 stumps. After the top order getting back to the pavilion Hyderabad clinged on with P. Rohith Reddy and T. Ravi Teja who were at the crease with 33 not out and unbeaten 22 respectively. M. Abhirath Reddy made 56 while K. Nitesh Reddy scored 44 for Hyderabad. M.P’s Vivek Singh plunged a dagger into the visitor’s batting line-up as he snapped three wickets.

In the Vinoo Mankad Trophy (one-day) match against Kerala, Hyderabad’s N. Thakur Tilak Varma and A. Varun Goud shouldered responsibility to guide the team to a seven-wicket victory at Alur. Tilak scored an unbeaten 79 and Varun made 72. Ajay Dev Goud picked up three wickets while Bhagath Varma and G. Aniketh Reddy took two wickets apiece for Hyderabad. Batting first Kerala set a target of 189, in reply Hyderabad finished in 44 overs.

In the other match played at Alur, Hyderabad claimed a four-wicket triumph over Goa without breaking sweat. Goa made 220/6 in 50 overs. The winning team’s Sohail Shaik’s unbeaten 76, was enough to turn table.
