Hyderabad: With similar bowling figures and almost identical names, Income Tax bowlers S. Praneet Raj and Praneeth Kumar clinched a five-for each to garner attention on Day One in their Pool ‘A’ match against R. Dayanand in the Hyderabad Cricket Association’s top division league match here on Wednesday.
Praneet and Praneeth destroyed R. Dayanand’s batting line-up from both ends to batter the opposition into surrender. R. Dayanand were bowled out for 122 in 38.1 overs with Praneet’s figures reading 10.1-0-48-5 while his partner too scalped five wickets while giving away 48 runs in 14 overs with three maidens in his account.
In reply, Income Tax were 51 for 1 in 24 overs at stumps. Meanwhile, in second division league match, N. Kranti Kiran smashed a brilliant 131 to help Deccan Wanderers chase down the target of 312 set by Galaxy CC and snatch five points. In his 187 balls stint, the southpaw dispatched 14 boundaries and four maximums. Shravan (62), M. Azeem (58) too played handy knocks for the Wanderers.
Meanwhile, Zinda Tilismath’s Kaleem Khan (6/35) and K. Sai Purnanand Rao of PKMCC (5/50) also did well with the ball in contrasting fortunes for their sides.
