Bizarre! Kiwi legend Daniel Vettori appears on online dating site

Vettori was in for a shock of his life when he was featured in an online dating ad for the Soulmates' single.

Mumbai: Former New Zealand spin wizard Daniel Vettori was in for a shock of his life when he was featured in an online dating ad for the ‘Soulmates’ single service on the main page of ‘The Guardian’, which is one of the biggest news portals in England.

The ad ran at the bottom of the website on Wednesday morning and featured a photo of Vettori in its ‘search for men’ panel.

Vettori is happily married with children and was unaware of the ad before being contacted and later confirmed he did not have a profile with ‘Soulmates.’

According to media reports, the Kiwi veteran said that he does not have an online dating profile and never saw the advertisement before.

The incident came to light when a Twitter user John Hudson noticed the bizarre picture. He commented with the picture and tagged New Zealand Cricket in his tweet.

“Can someone tell Vettori that the Guardian is using a photo of him to advertise its singles website? @BLACKCAPS”

‘The Guardian’ has still not given an official statement on the issue. However, Vettori’s agent, Greg Dyer, has asked to remove the picture and take down the profile.

Vettori retired last year from all form of international cricket and is currently the Head Coach of IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore and BBL franchise Brisbane Heats.
