Hyderabad: A. Ashish Reddy scored an unbeaten double century and Syed Ahmed took six wickets to hog Friday’s limelight in the Hyderabad Cricket Association’s top division league matches.
Sporting XI drew with EMCC but secured 3 points as Syed Ahmed’s heroic 6 for 83 played pivotal role in wrapping up EMCC for 266 runs. For EMCC Benjamin Thomas made 84 runs while Akarsh Kulkarni and Sharat Mudiraj hit 48 and 41 respectively. In the second innings Sporting XI scored 37/3 as Ajay Dev Goud scalped 3 wickets for EMCC.
In another Pool ‘A’ match, Andhra Bank rode on Ashish’s emphatic knock of 205 not out as they were all out after making 600 runs on second day against SBI.
Resuming at his overnight score of 146, Ashish went hammer and tongs to hit 22 boundaries and eight sixes in his innings. Akash Bhandari of SBI took seven wickets. At stumps SBI were 190/2 in 60 overs with Anirudh Singh unbeaten on 103. Danny Derek Prince made 30 runs.
In a Pool ‘B’ match between South Central Railway Sports Association (SCRSA) and AOC, the latter dished out a brilliant show to seal a 2-wicket victory and took 5 points.
On the final day, AOC bowled out their rivals for a meagre 141 in their second innings. S. Pandey stole the show as he wrecked the rival batting line-up by snaring 5 wickets while giving away 18 runs. Pandey’s 12.4 overs consisted of 7 maidens as he tightened the noose.
