IPL 2018: Shane Warne to make Rajasthan Royals return?

Shane Warne led Rajasthan Royals to their maiden IPL title in the inaugural season.

Mumbai: Former Australian spin legend Shane Warne had a memorable inaugural season in the Indian Premier League (IPL), leading the Rajasthan Royals to their maiden title back in 2008.

However, since then, the Jaipur franchise are yet to clinch another title, and have just made the play-off stage twice.

However, the 48-year-old recently took to Twitter to share about the possibility of returning to Rajasthan Royals Royals.

In a tweet posted on February 4, he said “Looking forward to making an announcement to you guys this week which I’m very excited about & yes it involves the #IPL2018 !

Cricket fans, too, reacted to his tweet, and were curious to know about the decision.

However, as of now, nothing has been confirmed.

While the inaugural champions retained Steve Smith during IPL player retention event, they bought the services of talented Caribbean Jofra Archer, Australian youngster Darcy Short among others during the auction last month.

The upcoming season of the IPL is set to begin on April 7, with the final on May 27.

Rajasthan Royals, along with Chennai Super Kings, are making a comeback to the multi-team tournament after two years, having been suspended due to spot-fixing in 2015.
