Hyderabad Cricket Association hits back at IT officials

HCA alleged that this matter is pending with a tribunal as it is a non-profit organisation with no commercial interestsâ€.

Hyderabad: The Income Tax drama that the Hyderabad Cricket Association has found itself in has taken a curious turn.

It was reported on Friday that the IT department has attached property belonging to the Association for non-payment of dues amounting to Rs 22.8 crore.

In response, the HCA, in a release, claimed that it has paid “Rs 14 crore against the demand of Rs 30 crore”, and listed out the payments made since 2006-07.

Furthermore, HCA alleged that this matter is pending with a tribunal as it is a “non-profit organisation with no commercial interests” and also that the Income Tax department had ignored repeated requests to wait till the matter is resolved by the tribunal and sealed its land in Nizamabad.
