Klusener set to become chief coach in Tamil Nadu Premier League

Klusener was the assistant coach of Zimbabwe till last month when a second string Indian unit toured the Africa nation recently.

Chennai: Former South African all-rounder Lance Klusener will step on Chennai soil as the chief coach of Lyca Kovai Kings in the upcoming edition of the The Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL).

Klusener, who represented the Proteas in 49 Tests and 171 ODIs, was the assistant coach of Zimbabwe till last month when a second string Indian unit toured the Africa nation recently.

Klusener will unveil the logo of one of the franchise in the league. His team represents Coimbatore.

Lyca had signed former Tamil Nadu player C Hemanth Kumar and current state cricketer R Prasanna as part of their coaching staff. Former Tamil Nadu off spinner R Venkatesh will be at the helm of cricket operations of the TNPL.

Venkatest has represented Tamil Nadu for 20 matches has 69 wickets to his name.
