Rio 2016: All you need to know about PV Sindhu vs Carolina Marin final

While Virat Kohli-led Indian side is taking on West Indies in Caribbean, all the eyes will be on Sindhu-Marin final in Rio.

Rio de Janeiro: PV Sindhu scripted history as she became the first Indian shuttler to enter the final of Olympics. The lanky Hyderabadi badminton star put up a dominating show to beat All England Championship winner and world no 6 Nozomi Okuhara 21-19, 21-10 in 49 minutes and set up a final clash against world no 1 Carolina Marin.

While the entire country will be backing Sindhu, it won’t be an easy task for her as she takes on the Spaniard who idolises Rafael Nadal. Like Nadal, Marin is known for her tenacity and ability to hold her nerve in the gruelling encounters. Marin defeated London Olympics gold medallist Li Xuerui in the semifinal to seal her place in the summit clash.

Although Marin enjoys 4-2 winning record against Sindhu, the Indian will be eager to add one more win against her name in an all important final and bring home a gold.
