A rash driving caused the world’s most expensive car crash on the Chugoku Express way in Japan turning the $4 million worth wheels into trash.

A fleet of sports cars, on their way to the city of Yamaguchi for a lunchtime get-together of car enthusiasts – were caught in a 14-car pileup causing no major injuries but littering the Expressway with pieces of broken driving dreams.

By the last impact, the accident had claimed eight Ferraris, one Lamborghini and three Mercedes-Benzes, plus two other vehicles.

A single miscalculation from a Ferrari driver leading a convoy of sportscar connoiseurs left a trail of twisted Italian and German metal trailing across this motorway in Japan.

The accident was caused by a Ferrari that skidded out of control and triggered a chain of collisions involving 13 vehicles.
