Shah Rukh Khan was detained for two hours at Newark. I&B minister Ambika Soni says, "The way we are frisked, we should also do the same to them." Salman Khan says, "It is not such a big deal. There have been no attacks since 9/11 because of their stringent security measures. I think it (the security) is a good thing."

I feel it is not about VIP or common man. They have not allowed him to use his phone. That is stupid. Also they can always google and check whether he is saying the truth !! How can the FBI be so dumb ?? No wonder Osama is still alive !!
What is wrong with frisking shahrukh when it is well known that bollywood has Dawood connections? It is also possible Americans are being frisked when
they come to India but they don't make a brouhaha over nothing. What about harrasment of Harrison Ford? No wonder Indians have such short term memory and are indeed
hypocrites.
Let us get real folks. As long as he was not mistreated or abused - being detained and questioned for a couple of hours is acceptable. Khan is a very common name and is a part of the terror watch list of the Immigation. How does a gora recognize Shah Rukh? How does he assure that somebody else is not using his name? Neither does a passport say he is a big shot nor does their software alert them. They cannot have posters of all top shots from all countries pasted on every desktop. I have personally been detained a couple of times, though having a non-muslim name, and did not mind it. Security is of utmost importance. What if a 'Khan' does cause a 911 kinda of mishap...do we not fire the immigation officer?
When did the Indian I&B (Information & Broadcasting) ministry become a mouthpiece for film actors? I&B should be audited if they are wording undue favours for actors instead of working for common people. Khan was subject to U.S. immigration procedure and nothing is wrong with it.
Shah Rukh is detained and questioned, then released, he finished his trip and returned. SO WHAT!! He did his job of attending to his acting business, the IO did his job of asking questions.
If our Dear Mr SRK had such an issue, he shudve registered a complaint in the Indian embassy either in the port of entry or the city of his stay.
He is sulking once he returns and like a first time parent the media goes gaga and also its minister. Shame on all these folks, are there not better things to report and talk about?
Talk about wasting tax payer money, hey bhagwaan janta ko akkal kab aayega?
IB ministry and the Indian government should concentrate more on dealing with issue of indian students getting attacked in Australia rather than SRK being detained for an hour in immigration.
