No pending announcements on alien life: NASA on Anonymous video

NASA has clarified that the space agency has no pending announcement regarding extraterrestrial life.

US space agency NASA has dismissed a wave of reports, claiming the space agency is about to announce the evidence of alien life, emerged after hacking group Anonymous video, reported Xinhua.

In a twitter post, Associate Administrator of NASA’s Science Mission Directorate Thomas Zurbuchen, clarified that the space agency has no pending announcement regarding extraterrestrial life. He tweeted, “Are we alone in the universe? While we do not know yet, we have missions moving forward that may help answer that fundamental question.”

The 12-minute video posted by Anonymous shows a man wearing a mask quoting Zurbuchen earlier announcement on evidence of alien life. He says, “Our civilization is on the verge of discovering evidence of alien life in the cosmos.” “Taking into account all of the different activities and missions that are specifically searching for evidence of alien life we are on the verge of making one of the most profound and unprecedented discoveries in history,” he added quoting Zurbuchen again.

Unfortunately, many media houses that picked the video and ran a story on it failed considering looking into depth. According to Xinhua, the full version of Zurbuchen's statement at the April 26, based on which he was quoted in the video cautioned that "We haven't found definitive signs of life elsewhere just yet."
