Shuttle launch a success from Sriharikota

The solid rocket booster carrying India's first winged body aerospace vehicle.

CHENNAI: In what could be described as the first baby steps in developing the Reusable Launch Vehicle, Isro has successfully flight tested fully indigenous prototype Reusable Launch Vehicle on Monday from Sriharikota.

The solid rocket booster carrying India’s first winged body aerospace vehicle, the Reusable Launch Vehicle-Technology Demonstrator (RLV-TD) lifted off at 7 am from the first launch pad at Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.This prototype had 6.5-metre long aeroplane like structure. It weighed more than 1.75 tonnes.
