Kakinada, Feb. 7: The East Godavari district collector, Mr M. Ravi Chandra, on Monday announced that the administration had received a total 1,71,032 applications for new ration cards from public, at the Rachchabanda programme, which was held at 713 gram panchayats and 161 municipal wards in the district, till Saturday.
Apart from that, a total 52,723 applications for general pensions, and 14,336 applications under YSR Abhaya Hastam scheme were received, he said.
The collector said Rs 25.40 crore was distributed among the members of 41,351 self-help groups under Pavala Vaddi scheme.
Similarly, 24,495 people were given temporary ration cards and coupons, Arogyasri cards to 16,208, and Indiramma housing sanction orders to 13,175 beneficiaries, the collector stated.
