RAJAHMUNDRY, Dec. 25: The Congress MP, Mr G.V. Harsha Kumar, is the only people’s representative (from these parts of the state) to express solidarity and support for Telangana state.
The MP, elected for the second term from Amalapuram SC reserved constituency in East Godavari, once again stood in the limelight for his stance on the issue. TRS chief Mr K. Chandra-sekhar Rao openly acknowledged Mr Kumar's support at a public meeting held in Hyderabad on Thursday.
Mr Kumar, a strong critic of the late Dr YSR, opposed him on several occasions earlier, despite the fact that the late CM had enormous clout with the party high command. It is also said that Mr Kumar was able to get clearance for his nomination to contest from Amalapuram despite opposition from the late CM.
The MP also opposed the candidature of Mr Y.S. Jagan for the post of chief minister after the sudden demise of YSR.
In a significant developm-ent, the social welfare minister, Mr Pilli Subhash Cha-ndrabose, visited Mr Kum-ar’s residence at Rajahmun-dry on Friday and spent abo-ut one hour with him. Later, speaking to media at the MP’s residence, Mr Bose revealed that people of all three regions in the state lived in harmony and it was not a good move to separate them.
He also revealed that they believed that Hyderabad was a place for all. When newsmen insisted on knowing details of the meet, the minister simply said that he had come to greet Mr Ku-mar on Christmas on Friday.
