Nearly 1.35 lakh students have registered for the engineering entrance examinations this year -- an all-time record.
Last year, the number was 1.26 lakh, entrance examinations commissioner (CEE) B.S. Mavoji said.
The time-limit for online registration of applications for Kerala engineering and medical entrance examinations ended at 5 pm on Tuesday in the website www.cee.kerala.gov.in.
The printouts of the application can be submitted to the office of the CEE latest by 5 pm on Wednesday.
All the 11 pages of the printout were to be sent to the office of the CEE. The Engineering/
Medical Entrance Examinations will be held from April 23 to 26, at the 300 centres in the state as also centres in Delhi and Dubai, the commissioner told DC.
One of the major changes in this year’s entrance examinations was the decision to opt for ‘global mean’ and ‘global standard’ deviation for the normalisation of marks of students from various streams appearing for the entrance examination.
The changes in the normalisation process were initiated by the CEE following the controversy last year, wherein it was alleged that the normalisation favoured students from the Kerala Higher Secon-dary Board.
