The AP High Court on Monday issued notice to the AP Junior Doctors’ Association seeking their response on a plea challenging their ongoing strike. While ordering an urgent notice to the association through a special messenger, a division bench comprising Chief Justice Madan B. Lokur and Justice P.V. Sanjay Kumar directed the association to respond to it by Tuesday.
The bench was dealing with a plea by S. Raju, a practicing lawyer, seeking the constitution of a special committee to look into the demands of the striking junior doctors and find a solution to their demands. Advocate-general A. Sudersan Reddy submitted before the court that the government has deputed medical officers from the non-clinical wings to attend emergency services in the various government hospitals. He said that the demand of junior doctors was contrary to the agreement between the State government and the junior doctors. The bench asked the AG to place the agreement before it in on Tuesday.
