Swarna Kireeta Shobha Yatra held

Speaking on this occasion, the TTD executive officer, Mr L.V. Subramanyam, said, “This is the first time the TTD has decided to decorate one of the crowns of Lord Venkateswara of Tirumala to Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy of Srinivasa Mangapuram on the occasion of the latter’s annual brahmotsavams wh-ich commenced on Sunday. It implies the true concept of Advaitha. Let us bless our lives by participating in this Shobha Yatra,” he added.

The procession went along the important streets of Tirupati covering Hare Rama Hare Krishna temple, Anna Rao circle, TTD administrative building, Municipal Corporation, Gandhi Road and Prakasam road. Thousands of devotees took part in this celestial procession, chanting Govinda Namas. Bhajans and kolatams by bhajan mandalis added colour to the grand procession.

Meanwhile, dwajaroha-nam was performed in the temple of Lord Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy at Srinivasa Mangapuram near Tirupati, signalling the commencement of the nine-day annual Brahmot-savam of Lord Kalyana Venkateswara on Sunday.

The sacred yellow cloth flag with the imprint of Lord Garuda, the celestial carrier of Lord Maha Vishnu, was hoisted atop the golden flag post, ‘Dwajasthambham’, situated inside the temple complex at the auspicious ‘meena lagnam’ 9.30 am am-idst the traditional recitation of Vedic hymns.
